Love the boy

I have an announcement to make!!!!
For those of you not in the know yet, Terence proposed to me at the Ritz on Sunday :)
He made me the happiest girl alive when he went down on one knee.
I DID NOT SEE IT COMING.
But now, I have a fiance and a sparkler from Charlotte Atelier which I proudly wear.
Of course the diamond matters (would you believe me if I insisted otherwise?) and he did NOT disappoint!
Hahaha.. So I have my childhood sweetheart's promise to marriage.
And nothing could be better! :)
We made it WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

peachy bunch of nerves

cherish summer while it lasts, and indulge your girly side. currently hoarding the bulk of magazines; the shoots are so gorgeous and happy. the only consolation is that while we begin the advance into fall/winter, aussie is the opposite and will celebrate sunshine when the rest of the world plunges into darkness. haha. how dramatic.

results will be released tmr. AM NERVOUS. hope i don't need a dose of retail therapy after. would much prefer to treat myself in celebration. we'll see. i'm gg for a walk by the beach. hope it helps.

i'm a student; get me OUTTA here.

I MISS PARIS.

what i wouldn't give to be walking on the cobblestone streets now, instead of sitting here and reading Hamlet. oh dear GOD.

faux pas

Friday seems some time away. Cannot say that I spent the weekend very productively study-wise. Caught Revolutionary Road yesterday. Guess it'll resonate strongly in times like these. But i can identify more with Kate Winslet's character than Leo's. Although I prefer safe generally, like her, ultimately I still believe the only way is up, and that we should never settle. I don't like challenging myself but really, we never know our limits until tested. I am very irritated by my exams. oh, and I hate hate hate the new MCYS family funeral ad. have you caught it? NOT touching at all. so contrived, so damn lame. and really, i cannot fathom how our singles can pick up subtle messages to start actively looking for a partner. i was NOT AMUSED even watching it for the first time. just thought it was draggy and so cringe-worthy. hate that the widow tried to deliver an oh-so-fresh eulogy by getting everyone's attention with her: i'm-going-to-talk-about my-husband-in-bed bullshit. please. if i were single, i would think that such idiosyncrasies are not unique to a life partner. friends are good enough. or dogs. anyhow, i hope they stop screening it soon.

Colonizer and Colonized

terence observed that just now, after paying for it, i clutched my new issue of uk glamour and skipped out of Harris without collecting my change. HAHA. i wasn't aware! i'm just a little bit happy. one has to be, after finishing two papers with three to go (do you know, we're even supposed to SPELL out numericals in our essays?! i think i knew but forgot haha). i really just want to twirl about in a dress and watch Revolutionary Road tomorrow. and eat sambal stingray (which i know won't happen soon cos it's just too hot to go to hawker centres these days, even newton circus). as the may issues of magazines hit newsstands today, i'm concerned that time will just fly past, and that spring summer will be over soon (which is a valid concern if you think about it. the fall previews will be out in about 2 issues. ARGH!). wonder if silk playsuits will still be in vogue next season. hmmm. what recession. i need an in-between-papers little shopathon tmr.

grounded

exams exams lalala...

austria austria... lake traunsee...road trip...

freedom..liberation...Grazia...

divine intervention...focus...i need a massage...

there is more to life than exams. and that's life itself. and the wonders of creation. that's what an old taxi driver taught me yesterday. certainly puts things into perspective. taxi drivers are my therapy. they are the best people to talk to for abit of a laugh, a slice of life and honest, no-holds-barred opinions. they really make me happy. and i'm so glad i've only met the best of them so far.

back to my text then. paper's tomorrow and so far so good.

The Great Sigh of Relief: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

With great joy and relief, I announce that I have submitted all 5 lit papers and am currently preparing for my exams! A happy Good Friday to all; I hope that what Christ did for all of us still touches you this day, and every other day too. I feel incredibly blessed, and I undertake my revision with hope in Christ and with complete faith in His strength :)
